Who is Bethesda?

Founded in 1904 in Watertown, Wisconsin, Bethesda Lutheran Communities is one of the oldest and largest faith-based organizations in the nation supporting people with developmental disabilities.

In addition to supporting over 2,000 people in 14 states, Bethesda offers outreach services to parents, teachers and thousands of service providers through its professional staff training and education materials.

Since 2001, Bethesda has also been active internationally, partnering with other agencies to provide consultation, training and financial assistance to organizations in Latvia, Romania, Western Russia, the Dominican Republic, Kenya and Tanzania. In 2008, we will begin a new initiative in Kazakhstan.

What is the Milwaukee Associate Board?

The Milwaukee Associate Board of Bethesda is a group of community leaders who assist in the support of the organization by creating awareness and planning annual fundraising events.

• Understand the overall mission of the organization
• Attend monthly Associate Board meetings
• Recruit participants to attend annual fundraising event, and
• Utilize business contacts in your area for donations to be used in raffle/auction at event
